I have been amazed and cheered by your commitment to the course and the progress you are showing. It is clear from your approach in class and the blogs that you are grasping the main areas of Media Studies well.
However, in this first assignment you MUST be both detailed and concise, it is a real skill to do it and one you NEED to acquire.
REMEMBER, THE HELP SHEET ON THE ASSIGNMENT 1 PAGE IS THERE TO HELP, AS IT THE LIST OF USEFUL TERMINOLOGY.
Your task in 1a is to analys 2 contrasting front covers using a maximum of 350 words across the two. You MUST identify the features using some (not all) of the terminology, you must describe briefly AND most importantly, you MUST explain the connotations. In addition you should include a clear understanding of how and why the front cover appeals to a specific target audience.
It is a lot to ask but you can do it.
Final note. Please, please ensure that the somewhat distracting chatter doesn't occur again. It would be a shame to lose some of you from the course because of a failure to adhere to the basic rules in the classroom. I like productive chatter on task and when focussed, I really don't want it at other times and neither to the majority of the class.
A new course for students studying Media during extra curricula time and using online or eLearning skills.
