Classwork catch-up

Some of you were out on a trip last lesson (6th March). You will need to complete the work in your own time. Remember, it is for the exam. Use this resource (Kerrang article) to help you fill in the sheet.

Ask your peers who were in the lesson for help if you need it, or come to see me.

FRIDAY CATCH-UP

Only 5 students attended this session due to a clash with science revision.

It is vital that those groups who have not completed their trailers do so as soon as possible - ideally this week.

The media room will be open for this important work every afternoon and the following lunchtimes.

In addition, there are a number of you without completed assignments from earlier in the course or significant work on their portfolios. The deadline for completion of these has long gone and it is your responsibility to get any outstanding work to me ASAP.

If you are in doubt come and see me and we will look through your folder and see what you need to do. I will be seeing individuals on Wednesday afternoon during the lesson for 5 minutes.

Wednesday 13th February

Today's lesson hasn't been cancelled but it has to take a different format from usual and requires a significant level of independent work from you.

Ms Patel will start you off at 3.30pm but cannot stay with you.

It is expected that you will be working on completing your trailers. If these are complete in every way possible then you should begin making notes for your evaluation.

Things to evaluate:

  • how effective was your research into conventions, audience, institutions, genre etc.
  • how did you plan - script, storyboard, animatic, test shooting, schedule - how did you realise your plans? Which elements were most successful and why?
  • production - most effective elements of production, what you learnt from the process
  • post-production - the editing process, how sound and image are used effectively, titling
remember this is your PERSONAL evaluation and you need to identify what you did and what you learnt.

Ms Patel will return at 4.30 to see how you have got on - a register will be taken.

Use your time well.

ASSIGNMENT 3

Assignment 3

Deadlines

Picture Edit completed - end of Autumn term

Sound edit to be completed - Jan 16th 2013

We will be using the first two weeks to complete your trailers in class. After this time you will HAVE to come to the media room in your own time as two groups have been doing extensively. Their work has consequently improved hugely and this will be reflected in the mark that they gain.

Though time is short - you still have some left so please use it widely.

EXAM COURSE

Teaching for the exam course will begin the 23rd of January and run through till May. We will during this time however take breaks to refine and assemble your complete coursework portfolio including Assignments 1a&b, 2a&b and 3a&b.

Enjoy your holiday and see you all in the new year.
